About me...
About my services

My basic approach to therapy is to help people understand their problems and then combat them using proven, no-nonsense tools.

I focus more on the here-and-now than on childhood, although it is usually helpful to understand how you first learned the harmful lessons that lead to symptoms.

Have you ever thought that you should be able to get more out of life than you do?

Have you ever wished you could get over stressful events more quickly, or learn how to assert yourself and not let people walk over you?

Are you finding yourself blocked in creative projects?

Are you having difficulties with someone else in your life, and you'd really like professional help in figuring out some different ways to deal with them?

Are you finding it difficult to meet the right person for a fulfilling relationship?

As a licensed clinical psychologist (California PSY 17037), these are just the kinds of issues I deal with most. The basic approach I use - called cognitive-behavioral treatment or solution-focussed therapy- involves helping you find new ways to look at things or new things try in order to solve the problems that bother you. Generally speaking, cognitive behavioral psychotherapy is dramatically quicker and more effective than most other forms of therapy available. For many people, significant relief comes within several weeks of weekly sessions.
